BJP Workers Gunned Down by Security Forces on Election Day in Senapati

Senapati, February 5 (This Politics): On the polling day of the second phase of Manipur Assembly Election where people of Manipur go to polling booth to choose their representatives for the following fives years, the Indian security forces have brutally gunned down two BJP supporters on the spot.

According to the petition filed by the agent of BJP Candidate of Karong Assembly Constituency in Senapati district of Manipur, Mr. K Longvao, s/o T Kah, and Mr. V Saope, s/o S. Vane from Ngamju village under 47-Karong A/C were mercilessly gunned down by the Indian armed forces deployed for the election duty.

While Mr. K Longvao has breathed his last, Mr. V Saope is severely injured and battling for his life. The statement says that they were fired at without “any proper reason, instruction/warning.”

The Ruturning Officer of the 47 Karong Constituency is impressed upon by the camp of BJP Candidate to “take immediate action or else situation could escalate further violence and fear”.

It further affirms that the security forces will not be allowed to leave Ngamju village until and unless justice is done, and demands that the culprits be arrested and punished.
