GoI May Grant Civil Flag to Nagas, says Nienu. But what is Civil Flag?
Kohima, 20 Sept. (This Politics): Azo Nienu, the Co-convenor of the Core Committee of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly’s Parliamentary Committee on Naga Political Issue (PCoNPI), revealed to NELive tonight that Nagaland CM Neiphiu Rio has suggested to the Home Minister Amit Shah that Nagas be granted ‘Civil Flag’ instead of cultural flag.
On pressing the significance of civil flag, Nienu elaborated civil flag as a flag that will be used for any occasion by Nagas except in government offices parallel to the tricolour Indian flag.
To the suggestion made by CM of Nagaland in their last visit to Delhi, Amit Shah has not given any reply to it so far but likely to be considered, said the Co-convenor.
It is highly speculated that if the NSCN-IM accepts the same formula on flag matter as suggested by Rio, then the chance of narrowing down the difference between GoI and NSCN-IM is very high.
It is reported that GoI representative AK Mishra and NSCN-IM team will be holding talk in few days which is expected to be very crucial in bringing breakthrough to the Indo-Naga talk impasse.
