Liz Truss Elected as Prime Minister of UK

London, September 5 (This Politics): In a race for the seat of Prime Minister of UK, Liz Truss the then Foreign Secretary of UK has won with absolute majority among Conservative party voters. She defeated Rishi Sunak, an Indian origin who gave a head to head battle in the race, by over 20,000 votes.

Liz has made history by becoming the third female Prime Minister elected after Margaret Thatcher and Teresa May.

The race for UK Prime Minister became necessary when incumbent Prime Minister Boris Johnson was forced to resign by his conservative party’s leadership.
