Kohima, 17 October (TP): The 14 tribal hohos of Nagaland has announced of having held an emergency meeting on 16th October (yesterday) at Commissioner Guest House in Kohima. They reaffirmed all their previous stands that they took in earlier years on ‘Naga Solution’. The 14 Tribal Hohos of Nagaland is a conglomeration of Naga tribal groups predominantly inhabiting the Nagaland state of India. It may be mentioned that their rise attributed to their objection to improper representation of their voice in the erstwhile apex Naga body; the Naga Hoho, as claimed by some.

The 14 Tribal Hohos urged all the negotiating parties in the Naga political talks to wrap up the process of signing an agreement without further delay. “The House (14 Tribal Hohos) has also delibrately discussed and resolved that any threat or intimidation to the Hoho leaders and other Naga civil society leaders by any groups will not be tolerated and as such shall be confronted publicly by all tribes”, says the Press Release.

They further made their stand clear that any resolution adopted by the Naga Hoho on Naga political solution should not be considered and should not be taken as the voice of the Nagas because “not a single Naga tribe of Nagas of Nagaland is a part/affiliated to Naga Hoho”, said their statement. It strongly validates itself by stating that “anything that is for the Nagas of Nagaland will be determined only by the tribal Hohos of Nagaland”.

The 14 tribal hohos reiterated to stand united for the sake of early Naga political solution, moreover, any part of agreement arrived at between the Government of India and Naga negotiating parties to be implemented in Nagaland should be made know to them before inking of the final agreement.
