In its declaration made on 26th October, 2019, signed by its Chairman Mr. Raitu Chawang and Vice Chairman S. Kamson along with N. Kitovi Zhimomi, the Ato Kilonser of the GPRN/NSCN and Mr. Alezo Venuh, it states that “after a series of deliberations between the GPRN/NSCN and ZUF in presence of the civil society of Zeliangrong, the ZUF on its own volition, will and determination for the bright future of the Nagas in general and specifically for the upcoming generations do hereby resolve to merge and be dissolved in the GPRN/NSCN and shall remain hereupon as one entity by all means and ways.”

It further states that “identity of Zeliangrong United Front shall cease to exist with this declaration from this date of 26th October, 2019.”

The objective of the group says that ZUF was formed to protect the natural resources, land and people, and to promote fraternity and assure individual dignity, as also to preserve the unity and integrity of Zeliangrong Inpui, Chiru and other minority groups bound by territorial jurisdiction.

Before this news broke, earlier yesterday we updated a viral picture of ZUF leaders and N. Kitovi Zimomi exchanging documents to one another. It is now learned that the picture was that of a small merging ceremony held between the two groups.
